Application Field of Diethyl Malonate
Diethyl malonate is a colorless liquid with a sweet ether odor. It is a compound of the hydroxyl group in the two carboxyl groups of malonic acid, which is substituted by ethoxyl, and the molecular formula is CH2(COOC2H5)2. Diethyl malonate is influenced by two carbonyl groups and has high activity. It can produces sodium salt with sodium glycol, and then reacts with halogenated hydrocarbon to produce diethyl malonate, which is substituted for one or two alkyls.Diethyl malonate condensation reaction with carbonyl compounds, produce unsaturated compounds RCH = C (COOC2).Diethyl malonate can be used as raw material for medicine.
